Archiving and Preservation

The Journal of Sports, Exercise, and Performance (JOSEP) aims to support the long-term accessibility, preservation, and scholarly visibility of the scientific content it publishes. Published articles, issues, and related bibliographic information are archived digitally and kept accessible.

Digital Archiving Principle

JOSEP provides open access to all published articles through the journal website and keeps them available in the journal archive. Article titles, author information, abstracts, keywords, DOIs, publication dates, volume, issue, page information, and full-text files are maintained in an organized manner.

The journal archive is structured to ensure continuous access to previous issues and published articles for readers, researchers, and academic users.

OJS Archive System

JOSEP manages its publication processes through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The OJS system enables the journal to store and maintain published issues, articles, PDF files, DOI information, and article metadata in an organized and accessible format.

Each issue published by the journal is made available in the archive section with its volume and issue information. Each article is provided to readers through its permanent article landing page and full-text file.

DOI and Persistent Access

Assigning DOIs to articles published in JOSEP supports persistent identification and traceability in scholarly communication. DOI information is clearly displayed on the article page and included in article metadata.

Through the DOI system, articles are intended to remain accessible via persistent links. The journal’s DOI prefix is 10.66614, and relevant DOI links are used for published articles.

National Electronic Deposit and Archiving

JOSEP aims to fulfill national electronic deposit and archiving responsibilities for electronic periodicals in accordance with relevant regulations and institutional guidance. Required files and issues may be submitted through appropriate national electronic deposit systems for preservation purposes.

This process contributes to the long-term preservation of published issues and articles, their inclusion in national scholarly memory, and the support of academic accessibility.

Backup and Content Protection

JOSEP places importance on the regular preservation of journal files, article metadata, and publication records to prevent the loss of published content. The journal administration takes necessary measures within its technical infrastructure and hosting services to support the continuity of published content.

In the event of technical issues related to the website, hosting service, or infrastructure, the journal aims to protect article files and publication records.

Metadata Preservation

JOSEP takes care to ensure that bibliographic metadata for published articles remain accurate, complete, and accessible. Article titles, author information, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, DOIs, volume, issue, page range, and publication dates are preserved within the journal system.

These metadata support article indexing, citation, visibility in academic databases, and long-term accessibility.

Interruption or Discontinuation of the Journal

If JOSEP suspends publication activities or ceases publication, necessary archiving measures will be taken to preserve access to previously published articles. The scholarly record of published content will be maintained, and access will be preserved for as long as possible.

Long-Term Access Statement

JOSEP supports the accessibility, identifiability, and preservation of scholarly works not only at the time of publication but also in the long term. For this purpose, the journal archive, DOI records, metadata management, and electronic deposit processes are maintained together.
