The Journal of Sports, Exercise, and Performance (JOSEP) is an open-access academic journal that supports the accessibility of scholarly knowledge. JOSEP does not charge authors any fee for manuscript submission, peer review, publication, or page processing.

Fee Policy

Manuscript submission and publication in JOSEP are completely free of charge. The journal supports authors in publishing their scholarly work without any financial barrier.

JOSEP does not charge authors for any of the following:

  • Submission fee
  • Preliminary evaluation fee
  • Peer review fee
  • Article processing charge (APC)
  • Publication fee
  • Page fee
  • PDF preparation or typesetting fee
  • Early view or online publication fee

APC Statement

JOSEP does not charge any submission fee, review fee, article processing charge, publication fee, or page fee.

No Financial Obligation for Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to JOSEP are not required to make any payment for manuscripts that are sent for review or accepted for publication. Acceptance, publication, or online availability of an article is not conditional upon any payment.

The journal’s no-fee policy does not influence editorial decision-making. All manuscripts are evaluated based on scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.

No Access Fees for Readers

In accordance with its open access policy, JOSEP provides all published articles free of charge to readers. Readers can access published content without any subscription, registration, or payment requirement.

Funding of the Publication Process

The publication processes of JOSEP are supported by its publisher, the Sports, Exercise, and Performance Research Association (SEP-ADER). This support contributes to maintaining the journal’s open-access and no-fee publication policy.

Publisher support does not affect editorial independence or the peer review process. Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Changes to the Fee Policy

JOSEP’s current policy is not to charge any fee for manuscript submission or publication. If any change is made to the fee policy in the future, it will be clearly announced on the journal website and will apply from the specified date onward.

Any future change in the fee policy will not be applied retroactively to manuscripts that have already been submitted and entered into the evaluation process.
